Weekly African Marimba & Mbira (Kalimba) Music Class

Join our weekly marimba and mbira (kalimba) music class at St Peter’s North Community Centre and play and sing songs from southern Africa. Instruments are provided and the classes are open to all ages and musical abilities.

Marimba (£10) - 6pm - 7:30pm

Learn, play and create beautiful melodies from Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana in an ensemble setting using soprano, tenor and baritone marimbas. Advance booking mandatory.

Mbira (£10) - 7:30pm - 8:30pm

Relax through music by learning to play the mbira nyunga nyunga. Our mbira workshops cover mainly folk music from Zimbabwe and include singing. Advance booking mandatory.
